It can mean to choose focus on your time and your attention on what you appreciate. We don't block out difficulties, but we can choose to approach those difficulties from a different perspective. Appreciation softens us. It soothes our minds and connects us with wonderful ordinary things that we might otherwise take for granted.
Ways to feel more Grateful...
Show up! Do the best you can and know that is enough.
Sit with parents and grandparents and listen to their stories.
Smile at a stranger.
Tell your family that you love them daily.
Respect others, including yourself.
Take care of yourself. Exercise can play a key role. Just go for a walk.
Do what you love.
Train your brain to see the good in everything.
“Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.” —Zig Ziglar
Everything is always 'easier said than done'. But if you keep at these things, it will become a habit. Try to keep a Gratitude Journal. Write in it everyday. Notice the beauty in nature and just smile! A smile can really go a long way. It will change your mood entirely.
Do something you love and enjoy each day, volunteer to help others and include an act of kindness in your life as often as you can.
That right there is one of the hardest to do. I know I am guilty of it. When we change our way of thinking, life opens up and becomes so much better...so much more lighthearted.
Give it a try!
Sometimes we don't realize the blessings we have until we no longer have them. Appreciate all the blessings in your life, take none for granted. ~Catherine Pulsifer
Try some of these things to help you be grateful, thankful and blessed.
